The supposedly top secret list of banned internet web sites involved in the Australian Government’s mandatory internet filtering trial has been leaked…on the internet. The secret list contains 2395 web pages declared ‘illegal’ by the Australian Communications and Marketing Authority. Wikileaks is an anonymous site used by whistleblowers to publicise documents that authorities want to keep hidden.
ACMA has warned that anyone who republishes the list could face up to 10 years in jail. Linking to sites on the banned list could incur fines of up to $11,000 a day.
