CLA letter gets Privacy Comm. action

CLA has motivated the Privacy Commissioner, a national statutory office holder, to investigate how young people’s privacy is almost certainly being abused by nightclub owners, who photograph, fingerprint and data log patrons before allowing them in. Read the Office of the Privacy Commissioner’s letter, and the CLA request letter that got things moving.

See CLA’s request to the Privacy Commissioner for an ‘own motion investigation‘ and the Privacy Commissioner’s response.

IF YOU DON"T LIKE what the nightclubs are trying to do, make your complaint to the Privacy Commissioner – just a few sentences will do: privacy@privacy.gov.au You can use the complaint form and attach it to the email.
