World Internet Villain of the Year, Senator Stephen Conroy, has finally announced his scheme for filtering – online censorship – in Australia. He spins a softer approach than originally threatened, but the devil will be in the detail of the Bill to go before Parliament in February-March 2010. Main danger is the enormous scope for ‘bracket creep’ in what is to be censored.
